I love doing engagement sessions in places where they mean something to the couple. Emily says all of their favorite memories happened in Lawrence, so, of course, we had to do the session in Lawrence. Emily & Scot have been together since they met in high school, and it shows! They are the sweetest couple, and never stopped smiling the whole session. I can't wait for their August 2nd wedding, because not only is Heather shooting with me, but we're gonna have a ton of fun!
They are so sweet together!Look at the love in Emily's eyes!
One of my favorites
If you ever meet Scot, ask how you get free bagels from Einstein Bros:)
How about some Magnum?
Which leads to expressions like this:)
Can you say favorite?
We even found time to play in the park
Then they shared some pizza from their favorite pizza parlor, Papa Keno's Pizzeria, which they claimed is the best pizza ever.
Sorry, Emily, I had to post this, because I love it so much:)
Finally, we ended the session on Scot's porch, how sweet:)
See you guys in about a month. I hope you're as excited as I am!
Jenny and I love to see our past wedding couples have kids. It's so amazing that we get to be a part of people's lives and capture some awesome memories for them, as well as oogle over the cuteness of another baby:) We got to take Katie & Joe's wedding pics last year, and were excited when we heard she was expecting. Well, yesterday we finally made it out to do a session with little Collin, and boy was he ever in a great mood! I'll let you all see for yourself...
Soooo Cute
Another favorite
Such a wonderful looking family!
Collin sure loves his mommy...
and his daddy, too!
My favorite shot
I love these last 3 also (processing note - I was playing with some vintagey tones for these, let me know what you think)
I also have to throw in that I love that he looks just like Joe. It's always nice when the mommy carries the baby for 9 months, does all the hard work during delivery and the baby comes out looking like daddy:)
The Kansas-North Carolina rivalry is a pretty big one, but love knows no boundaries. Hilary is a huge Jayhawk fan and Jonathan is a huge Tar Heels fan, and they got married in Lawrence (sorry, Jonathan) on one of the most gorgeous June days I've ever seen in the Midwest. We had a blast spending the day with you all!
They had a moment before their first meeting...
I loved Hilary's expression during the first meeting
Right before the ceremony
And Jenny captured this moment between Hilary's mom and grandma
The casual bridal party. They were all so laid back and fun all day!
A little dancing (with some flare)
I LOVE the willow trees on the KU campus. So pretty!
They had some awesome serious faces
Love this shot during their first dance
Jonathan and his mom had a wonderful Mother/Son dance
And, then, Jonathan kicked the party off with an awesome rendition of Strokin' by Clarence Carter. This was definitely one of the funniest things I've EVER seen! I really had a hard time picking out my favorites, so I chose 4:)
The native North Carolinians (is that even a word?) really got into Petey Pablo's Raise Up:)
The night concluded with an awesome exit to KU/UNC colors (and chants:)
The rings on the pom-poms.
The massive organ at the church
And, finally, I can share a few of my favorite shots from Hilary's bridal session we did all the way back in April.
For those who have never heard Strokin' please feel free to enjoy the awesome video!
