Conversations with my kids

This is exactly what was said in the back seat of the van on the way home from pre-school today.

Max: "Daddy, when I get older, and Zoey gets older, I want to marry her."
Ava: "Me too."
Max: "No, Ava, I'm going to marry Zoey, you can marry Lia."
Ava: "Yeah. I can marry Lia."

And, here are a couple of shots of Max and Zoey taken yesterday morning. Aren't they just so cute?

10 days is too long...

I realized last night that it's been 10 days, yes, 10 whole DAYS since I snapped a picture of my kids. Now, we were in New York for 7 of those days, but still, 10 days is WAY too long. So, enjoy a long post of images of my kids from today, and a few shots of my wife (yes, she actually let me take her picture).

Ava & Max are REALLY enjoying their new bunkbeds...although they enjoy them a little too much when they are supposed to be sleeping :)

Love this "serious" shot of Ava.

Someone likes to sneak up on the freezer when you open it.

Someone is finally, FINALLY, starting to walk. And, I LOVE this image of my baby girl so much.

Max likes to drive his sister around...it's so sweet!

How lucky am I to have a wife this beautiful? She needs to hear it more often because I don't think she believes me when I tell her. Babe, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.

Ava likes to drive Lia around too :)

Ava just LOVES her sit-n-spin.

Random Shots, August 2009

It pains me to type this post. Drew is moving, so our monthly random shoots are not possible any longer. We've been doing them for almost 2 years now, and only missed last month (because Jenny unexpectedly flew to Cleveland). So, this is my last monthly random shoot with Drew for awhile :(

I will, be doing other random photo projects (you gotta stay fresh), and I've got a few fun ideas spinning throughout my head, so stay tuned. And, Drew, I wish you the best of luck in Southern California!

So, I bring you, Higginsville, MO. We met some nice people, ate at the fanciest restaurant in town, and learned about frog gigging. Plus, we saw some cool crap, too!

New York: Day 1

Here's a few frames from our first day in the Big Apple.

I was lucky enough to get to see Kat Burns play a solo set at the Sidewalk Cafe. She's the singer of Forest City Lovers, one of my absolute favorite bands. Check 'em out :)

Just another Sunday

It's been far too long since I've posted some pictures of my kids. At least, far too long for my standards :)

Here are just a few shots I snapped on a lazy, wonderful Sunday with the family.

This is Lia right before nap. Every single time I lay her down, she grabs her favorite green blankie and snuggles tight. She just looks up at me with those innocent eyes that I love so much. I've been meaning to capture this shot for awhile now and I'm glad I finally did.
Max has a new found love of Legos. Here he's playing with the pirate ship I loved so dearly growing up. I love how my little Max goes through so many different phases. That's why I have to take so many pictures. Who knows, tomorrow he might be into something completely different.

Lia LOVES, just absolutely LOVES to find Max's and Ava's drinks and steal a few sips here and there. You can see it in her eyes, too. She'll spot a cup from across the room and monkey crawl as fast as possible over to it, snatch it up quick and start chugging. She has to, because the second Max or Ava sees her with their cup, they run over and snatch it back. Here, Lia is giving Ava the eye while chugging from her cup. She's got that "Yeah, I'm drinking your water, don't F with me right now" look.
And, as I was walking out the door for my family shoot tonight, sweet little Ava wanted to "give me a kiss through the rails". And I can't turn down a kiss from any of my girls. You never know when they are going to all of a sudden be too cool to give dad a kiss. So, I'm enjoying it while it lasts :)
