Some random sweetness from the Solar house

Max just recently got his haircut again (it was badly needed)

I think it's safe to say that Lia likes her balloons.

I love that Max likes to make Lia laugh (notice how long his hair is in this one)

And Ava apparently likes to hug Lia a little too tight (notice Ava's hair, that's what it looks like when she sleeps with her bo-bo's in)

Emma & Ian

Emma & Ian. You've seen their feet recently in this post. Now it's their turn to shine :) Emma is very shy, and Ian really didn't want to have his picture taken on this particular day, so Jenny & I had to be very patient with them. Eventually they warmed up to us and we had some fun. I can't wait for the fall and we'll get the whole family together at once for a session (mom and dad, too) :)

Note to photographers...if you own an iphone, and your subject keeps talking about trucks and paying no attention to you, download the firetruck app. It will save your butt :)

There is so much innocence and curiosity to be seen in a child's eyes.

Em's little smile here is so cute :)

Yes, Emma, you do have beautiful blue eyes.

Something about this shot. I just love it. Maybe it's because you can't see all of Emma's face (she's just not quite tall enough), or is it because Ian desperately wants to climb up by big sis but can't quite do it yet?

Fact. Rocks are cheap entertainment.

Nina made a brief appearance before she got bored and fell back asleep.

Thanks to the firetruck app, I got this shot.

I really like this one, too. It's different, but something caught my eye and I can't quite figure it out yet.

Ian, I see that little grin you're trying to hide in there.

Graduating: Austin

Around here at Josh Solar Photo, we don't get to shoot many seniors, so it's always fun when we get to do senior sessions. One thing I always try to do is incorporate what's important to them in their session. Graduating high school is a HUGE step and you change awfully fast, so down the road it's nice to be able to look back and remember who you were in high school.

For Austin, it was all about football...so we headed to the stadium where he plays on Friday nights and walked around. I also got the chance to play with my strobes a little bit, which is nice considering the thunderstorm rolling in behind him in a few of the shots. Doesn't he just look like one mean dude? He's really a nice, quiet guy, but dang, I'd hate to be lining up against him on the field.

Doesn't Austin have such a great smile?

He's got a mean tough face also :)

Told you that thunderstorm was coming!

And, my favorite shot of the session. You do not want to mess with Austin!

Brian & Jacque: Manhattan Wedding

Ceremony: Seven Dolors Catholic Church
Reception: Houston Street Ballroom

True Story...Jenny and I woke up yesterday morning bright and early, packed our gear into the car and headed all the way to Manhattan, KS on a rainy morning. By the time we arrived in Manhattan, it was a beautiful, sunny day! We were met with all smiles from Brian & Jacque. They love to laugh, especially with each other, and they are so head over heels in love. Thanks, Brian & Jacque for making our day so enjoyable!

Brian is a very silly dude :)

Somebody (somebodies?) partied a little too hard the night before :)

Someone's just a wee bit excited :)

A favorite!

Brian is a Manhattan police officer, so I asked if it was possible to get a car for some portraits...and, it was :)

some pinwheel action!
