This is the first of 3 posts tonight, so I'm going to keep the words short and sweet because it's late. I did 3, yes, 3 doggie shoots at Loose Park this afternoon, and the first one was Roxie. Here she is!
I loved her smile:)
There's something about this one
We tried & tried & tried & tried to get this shot, and it finally worked (on a side note, Roxie is not being strangled in this picture:)
Thanks, Roxie, I know I wasn't the most interesting thing at the park this afternoon, but you did wonderful!

Another update on Jenny
Well, it's about time we had some good news. Jenny came home from her 3rd hospital visit today and she's doing much better. They were finally able to determine what kind of viral infection she has and according to the test results, it looks like she's finally on the mend. The other good news is that this viral infection has no known links to problems in pregnancy, so even though Jenny's been so sick, the baby should be just fine. It's still going to be awhile before she's back to normal and we get everything caught up around here. We can't say enough how much it means to us that we have had so many people praying for Jenny and our family, watching our kids for us, making us dinners, helping us with housework. Seriously, we appreciate it so much.
Doggie Pics: Maize the lab
Meet Maize, a gorgeous 7 year old yellow lab. Actually, you met Maize in early February. You all might remember Maize from Amanda & Rob's amazing wedding. She was a little nervous on the wedding day around me, but once we got her outside where she could roam free, we were all good!
Since I'm still fairly new to the dog portrait scene, I learned a few more things today:
1. You might have to lay in the mud to get some sweet shots. Maize loved to go where it was muddiest:)
2. After 2 days of running around taking pics of gorgeous labs, my legs are sore:)
Anyway, enjoy the pics!
Maize did this sweet trick where she balanced a treat on her nose, then when given the signal she would catch it in mid-air!
She loved to chase the tennis ball as well
Maize decided she could only chase the ball for so long
It's tough, but I think this one is my favorite
Here's Rob getting Maize pumped
I love the proud look on her face in this one
Thanks Maize for playing in the mud with me. And a big thanks goes out to Amanda & Rob as well for letting me get your beautiful dog a little dirty:)
Check back tomorrow night for 3 more doggie shoots!

Doggie Pics: Ernie the Lab
Meet Ernie, the gorgeous lab I had the pleasure of playing with today. He did a wonderful job posing for me, and listened to Maggie quite well. This was a fun session because I shot Maggie's wedding in 2006 and actually snapped a few of Ernie during their engagement session.
I'm dying to share my favs with you, but first, I learned 2 things:
1. Dogs are a hell of a lot harder than kids because they run faster:)
2. I loved every second that I was taking these pics. I always get down and dirty when I'm taking pictures, but never have I had a client shake water on me until today!
I hope you all enjoy the shots as much as I enjoyed taking them!
Ernie loved to smile at me
Ernie loved to chew on anything he could find
Maggie mentioned that she liked the textured look
Ernie needed a water break. I don't think Maggie told him modeling would be so hard:)
He loved to swim as well, and the first thing he did when he got out was shake water all over me.
I love this shot!
He was good at giving high-fives as well
Thanks, Ernie, for being one of the first doggies featured on my blog! Oh, and sorry for all the pics, but I actually had 32 favorites picked out:)

Just for Fun: Eliesa & Judd
I called this a Just for Fun session because that's what it was:) Eliesa was one of the photographers that attended the Anti-Workshop with me. We did this shoot outside of Bally's on Saturday afternoon right before I left Vegas. Her husband, Judd, was hanging out with her the whole time and we thought we'd have some fun with them. We had a few other Anti alumni, but I can't remember who all was there. Give me a break, I was working on about 3 hours of sleep:)
Post-processing note: I have been working on a cross-processed look that I really, really like, and I finally found it, and this was the perfect shoot to try it out. What do you think?
I love the color on their glasses
I love this one!
Eliesa & Judd totally worked it for the camera. I'm sure our paths will cross again one day!
